ToothTales

ToothTales

The Problem.

This project challenged us to create a digital experience that 5-to-7-year-old children can play with and learn from on a tablet. The experience was required to meet the following learning objectives:

  • Everyone should brush their teeth for two minutes, two times a day.
  • Brush all sides of each tooth using a small amount of toothpaste. Do not rinse your mouth out when you finish brushing.
  • When brushing is not possible, after eating rinse your mouth with water.  Swish the water around your mouth and then swallow it.

The Process.

I first developed personas and user journeys. This vital initial step highlighted pain points for both parents and their children during the tooth brushing experience.

The Solution.

I created annotated wireframes for ToothTales, a tablet app that guides users through the tooth brushing experience. The app provides tutorials for brushing techniques to ensure that children are brushing properly. Children are able to select a character to join them in the brushing experience.
