Organizational Outreach Strategy

Organizational Outreach Strategy

The Problem.

The organization lacked an enterprise-wide strategy for outreach, which negatively impacted the effectiveness and efficiency of outreach efforts. The organization’s outreach council aimed to create a shared platform for community engagement and outreach initiatives across the organization.

The Process.

I led a four-person team to provide insights to the organization’s outreach council to aid in understanding how the organization currently conducts outreach, how veterans would like to communicate and collaborate with the organization, and how employees perform outreach. We used human-centered design methods to conduct interviews and intercept veterans at existing outreach activities, speaking with 51 veterans and family members, 52 staff members, and 48 external organizations.

The Solution.

We created low-fidelity prototypes before conducting research to serve as discussion points for our traditional human-centered design conversations. Following the research, we created an ecosystem map and evolved the initial low-fidelity prototypes in light of the research outcomes. Our team also created a set of strategic frameworks that should be used to guide the organization’s outreach strategy.
